How to display opencv video in pyqt apps

The code for this tutorial is here

Opencv provides are useful, but limited, method of building a GUI. A much more complete system could be acheived using pyqt. The question is, how do we display images. There are quite a few possible routes but perhaps the easiest is to use QLabel since it has a setPixmap function. Below is some code that creates two labels. It then creates a grey pixmap and displays it one of the labels. code: staticLabel1.py

from PyQt5.QtWidgets import QWidget, QApplication, QLabel, QVBoxLayout
from PyQt5.QtGui import QPixmap, QColor
import sys

Installing ModelSim on Ubuntu

ModelSim Installation issues

Ubuntu 14.xx and above

Ignore this if you have not encountered any issue with the installation and running of ModelSim and Quartus on your system. You are very lucky. (Just Kidding! You have surely had this issue, only sorted.)

Hence assuming you have been following the procedure given in this guide. Most certainly, Quartus will install jsut fine, and so will ModelSim. The issue is in launching due to inappropriate linking etc.

Stage 1

This is the simplest error you would encounter. Navigate to the modelsim_ase folder and run:

How to generate and apply patches with git?

It sometimes happen you need change code on a machine from which you cannot push to the repo. You’re ready to copy/paste what diff outputs to your local working copy.

You think there must be a better way to proceed and you’re right. It’s a simple 2 steps process:

1. Generate the patch:

git diff > some-changes.patch
