i'd also add this:

    NSString *propertyName = [[[NSString alloc] initWithCString:property_getName(property)] autorelease];
    id propertyValue = [self valueForKey:(NSString *)propertyName];
    if(propertyValue != nil)
        [props setObject:propertyValue forKey:propertyName];

no deprication note, and handles exception on nil properties
