OSE on FVTT 💜 Open Source

Exactly 1 year ago, I took over maintaining Unofficial Old-School Essentials on Foundry VTT. And today I’m announcing a new phase of the open source OSE project.

This is a set of stream of consciousness notes from my first-time experience GM-ing a Multiverse game after joining as a player a couple times. The game we played is called SniperSerpent’s Anomaly. We played on January 3, 2022.

• I go to the playmultiverse.com home page because I know I want to setup my game, but have no idea how to get signed in from here
• I check my browser history and realize I’m on the correct domain, but I’ve never created my own game, I’ve always just clicked a link to get into the game. “How do I start from a new game?” This question isn’t answered from the home page
• Eventually by starting from someone else’s verse, as found in my browser history, and clicking the logo, I get to the “/play” route on playmultiverse.com. I still can’t find the natural way to get here
• I see a plus button, which is my first guess for “start my own verse,” though “Explore My Hub” also sounds like what I might want
• I realize that the steps I’m taking in starting my verse feel like I’m retyping the sc

Fistandia’s Mansion

The first adventure in Candlekeep Mysteries has one map: Fistandia’s Mansion. The following is a text caption for this map.

Fistandia’s Mansion has three levels, labeled Upper Level, Middle Level, and Lower Level. Each room in the mansion is labeled M1 to M19, and some room entrances are labeled with an S to denote a secret room entrance. The map legend shows that each square of the mansion map has a width of 5 feet.

M1 is on the Middle Level. M1’s double-door south entrance is the main entrance to the mansion. The south entrance has a 5 by 10 foot entryway area that opens into a 5 foot-wide hallway with seven room doors and an ascending staircase. A door to the west end is 40 feet from the mansion entrance and opens west into M2. Beside it, 35 feet away from the mansion entryway, is a door that opens to the north into M3. 15 feet to the west of the entryway is a door that opens north to M4. Directly north of the mans
