Free-roaming dog attacks on humans in India during 2023

This is a compilation of newspaper/media reports of serious dog attacks on people in India in 2023 - 'routine' dog bite reports have not been included. Based on reports published in English newspapers and media outlets.

A total of xx serious/fatal free-roaming ("stray") dog attacks were reported resulting in yy deaths. zz of the yy people killed by dogs were kids under 13 years.

This is a compilation of newspaper/media reports of serious dog attacks on people in India in 2022 - 'routine' dog bite reports have not been included (e.g. Dog on a biting spree attacks 13 people in Surat: https://indianexpress.com/article/cities/surat/stray-dog-attacks-13-people-including-eight-kids-in-surat-8008403/). Based on reports published in English newspapers and media outlets.

A total of 86 serious/fatal free-roaming ("stray") dog attacks were reported resulting in 33 deaths. Twenty-seven of the 33 people killed by dogs were kids under 13 years.
