Product Hunt
Hey —
I'm writing to let you know that I’ve left my full-time role at Product Hunt.
After a few amazing years of helping founders build products and find early
adopters, I’ve made the decision to move on (more on that here). This journey
has been, by far, the most fulfilling work of my life. I can't imagine a better
team of folks to have worked towards this goal alongside.
It's been a pleasure to partner—and become friends—with so many of you. I'll
continue to remain close to the company, so feel free to reach out and I’ll
help or connect you to the right person.
I’m also thrilled to announce that I’ve just launched a passion project: The
Rise Awards.
The Rise Awards is an awards series and community built to celebrate and
connect top talent in tech (beyond founders and execs) across 15+ categories
(engineers, designers, PMs, data scientists, etc). If you’re curious, check it
out on Medium and Product Hunt.
If this resonates with you, nominate someone you think deserves recognition for
their work here.
Best,
Erik
P.S. If you want to know about my next moves more broadly, let’s stay in touch
and I'll keep you posted. You can find me here: erik@riseawards.co.
Dearest Erik, friend, partner, lover.
I'm writing to let you know that I've left my full-time role in the bedroom.
After a few amazing hours of reading emails and finding great tweets, I've made
the decision to move on (more on that here). This journey has been, by far, the
most fulfilling work of my life. I can't imagine a better team of pillows to
have napped towards this goal alongside.
It's been a pleasure to partner--no, we're so much more than that, Erik. We are
the most intimate of friends. Foils. Confidants. You tell me everything in these
emails. A yearly inventory of the capacious, thousand-year-old warehouse you
call a heart. And through these emails, we fell in love. I didn't think it
possible at our age; such old souls, both of us, but here it is: young love, in
full blossom. I'll continue to remain close to your apartment, so feel free to
reach out. Just rap the wall three times. And I'll be there. Watching. Thrilling
to feel your touch, Erik. To connect you to the right person.
The right person is me.
I'm also thrilled to announce that I've just launched a project in the throes of
passion: making breakfast.
The breakfast is an award-winning community of AA-grade eggs, top oatmeal, and
smoothies across 15+ categories (fruits, vegetables, even some flax seed, etc).
If you're curious, check it out on Tumblr.
This resonates with you, Erik. You remember the breakfasts we used to cook
together, in your darkened Paris apartment at three AM, Staind blaring from your
Sonos, the MDMA blurring the lines between your fingers, mine, the french toast,
rubbed all over our bodies. Our communion syrup. This is my body and this is my
blood, Erik. I am yours and you are mine, in the consummation of our consumption.
Breakfast carbs,
Kyle
P.S. I already know about your next moves, more broadly than you yourself know
them. You are an open book to me, Erik. How could it be otherwise? I know where
to find you.
