Devops Mountain View Days Jam

#Devops Mountain View Days Jam

Bring your guitars, harmonicas, flutes, bongos, drumsticks and even your rough voice to the Devopsdays Mountain View Jam (party) on Thursday night. Don’t by shy, we really want to extend the Devops collaboration idea in a new way. There are a lot of closet musicians in our community and what better way to hack than with instruments in hand. We will have a PA system, a drum set, a few guitars and amps. As with all Devops parties there will be plenty of food and spirits. We also have a few ringers (professional musicians) to back us up and fill in the gaps. David Lutz (@dlutzy) my partner in crime has put up a list on Google Docs. Please feel free to update the list, but more importantly, please step up to the mic Thursday evening and join the fun.

Hi John,
I'm sorry we got into a tussle today. I felt like everything I was saying in both meetings was supportive/building on what you had to say. Yet I felt provoked with being contradicted and talked over repeatedly which didn't seem called for given the setting. I don't think a debate on a such a narrow issue of how good/successful Logstash is, was of value to these folks. And as I said yesterday, the market is so big that I don't feel one product/company has to fall for another to succeed. For the record, I was complimentary about Splunk's product and I continue to believe they will see great success (even while we succeed in the adjacent SaaS segment).
I'm sure we'll run into each other again and hope we can get beyond this.
Regards,
Charlie
