Home Page copy

I want the home page copy to be of a similar style to that of Papa Parse. Basically, there will be a primary hook followed by a QA-style explanation of what ClipX is. This document will hold those QA and other home-page copy till we are ready to commit it to the repository.

What is ClipX?

Its a content syndication service

That was not at all clear.

ClipX archives and stores everything you want to save on the internet. If you've used ifttt, think of it as ifttt for content.

So you store everything I visit?

No. We store whatever you want to. For eg, you may add an article to pocket, or tag it on Feedly, post a link on your facebook wall, or even star it on twitter. ClipX recognizes all these actions and saves the corresponding link into our database.

What all integrations do you support?

ClipX currently offers integrating with Pocket, Dropbox, Evernote, GitHub, Twitter, and Google Spreadsheets. This list is expected to grow over time.

But I don't put my bookmarks into Dropbox or Google Drive!

Glad you asked. Dropbox, Evernote, and GoogleDrive are what we like to call "Publish" services. We store a copy of all content you have with us in all of your integrated Publish services.

So you move stuff from Pocket to Evernote?

Yes, we do that as well.

But ifttt could do that

IFTTT is a cool service, but it does not offer any way to archive content. ClipX is specifically meant to make sure that your content is always safe and available. Even if we go down, you always have a copy of your content in your Dropbox/Evernote/Google Drive account.

Sounds cool. Is it paid?

ClipX is free while in Beta. Once we go live, we will probably offer 2 max integrations in our free tier. This is subject to change, however.

How do I sign up?

Go sign up here, and start connecting accounts.

Can you describe what all services you support?

  1. Github - Fetch repositories that you star.
  1. Twitter - Fetch links in any tweet that you star.
  2. Pocket - Fetch any link you add to Pocket.
  3. Dropbox - Save all of your bookmarks as browsable-"html" files in your Dropbox folder.
  4. Evernote - Save and read all of your bookmarks in your Evernote notebook.
  5. Google Spreadsheet - Single spreadsheet with all of your bookmarks and tags
