Install Notes - Dell XPS 13 (9370) 2018

The laptop works well on Archlinux. A few notes based on the installation guide for the previous version.

Intel GPU Power Saving

Per the Arch wiki, more power can be saved by creating /etc/modprobe.d/i915.confwith the following content:

options i915 modeset=1 enable_rc6=1 enable_fbc=1 enable_guc_loading=1 enable_guc_submission=1 enable_psr=1

Create bootable USB

dd bs=4M if=/path/to/archlinux.iso of=/dev/sdx status=progress oflag=sync

Boot from USB and set prepare system

loadkeys <your-keymap>

Installing Arch Linux with Full Disk Encryption

If you're aiming for a seamless Arch Linux installation in UEFI mode, follow along as this guide will walk you through the process step by step. We'll be using LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) and LVM (Logical Volume Manager) partitions on LUKS to achieve full disk encryption.

Note: I have updated this doc for UEFI mode. For those with BIOS/MBR systems, you can refer to the previous version, but keep in mind that it might be outdated and no longer accurate.
