Understand your Mac and iPhone more deeply by tracing the evolution of Mac OS X from prelease to Swift. John Siracusa delivers the details.
You've got two main options:
Rank | Type | Prefix/Suffix | Length | |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Prefix | my+ | 2 | |
2 | Suffix | +online | 6 | |
3 | Prefix | the+ | 3 | |
4 | Suffix | +web | 3 | |
5 | Suffix | +media | 5 | |
6 | Prefix | web+ | 3 | |
7 | Suffix | +world | 5 | |
8 | Suffix | +net | 3 | |
9 | Prefix | go+ | 2 |
Type crontab -l
to see your cron jobs. Type crontab -e
to edit them. You have to use Vim apparently.
Add a line like this:
0,30 * * * * /Users/YOURNAME/Documents/scripts/stretch.sh
That is on every 0th and 30th minute of the hour. Make sure all the separators in there are tabs!
The connection failed because by default psql
connects over UNIX sockets using peer
authentication, that requires the current UNIX user to have the same user name as psql
. So you will have to create the UNIX user postgres
and then login as postgres
or use sudo -u postgres psql database-name
for accessing the database (and psql
should not ask for a password).
If you cannot or do not want to create the UNIX user, like if you just want to connect to your database for ad hoc queries, forcing a socket connection using psql --host=localhost --dbname=database-name --username=postgres
(as pointed out by @meyerson answer) will solve your immediate problem.
But if you intend to force password authentication over Unix sockets instead of the peer method, try changing the following pg_hba.conf

This Grub Init Tune will make your computer sound like a Super Mushroom every time you turn it on! This only works for the Grub bootloader - this generally means you need to have Linux (or other Grub-based OS) installed.
Here's the code, which goes in your /etc/default/grub
file:
GRUB_INIT_TUNE="1750 523 1 392 1 523 1 659 1 784 1 1047 1 784 1 415 1 523 1 622 1 831 1 622 1 831 1 1046 1 1244 1 1661 1 1244 1 466 1 587 1 698 1 932 1 1195 1 1397 1 1865 1 1397 1"
