Thanks! YAML version here.
Thanks a lot for this. Maybe try submitting this as a pull. TSLint have a sample.tslint.json with all settings and have proper comments as to what each of them does.
Thanks so much! This is helpful to learn how to setup .eslintrc.
Thanks just what I needed
Awesome, some rules that need updating though:
Rule 'no-empty-class' was removed and replaced by: no-empty-character-class
Rule 'no-empty-label' was removed and replaced by: no-labels
Rule 'no-space-before-semi' was removed and replaced by: semi-spacing
This is really helpful, thanks for putting this together! Here's a few more that weren't reset:

Cool
I've created repo with updated & new rules: https://github.com/DominikSerafin/eslint-starter
Seems the new eslint
needs to have the ecmaFeatures
section under parserOptions
. Otherwise it was complaining with the below error
Error: [object Object]:
ESLint configuration is invalid:
- Unexpected top-level property "ecmaFeatures".
For my .eslintrc
configuration, I had to change like below
"parserOptions" : {
"ecmaFeatures" : {
"spread" : true,
"blockBindings" : true,
"destructuring" : true,
"templateStrings" : true,
"jsx" : true,
"generators" : true,
"defaultParams" : true,
"modules" : true,
"arrowFunctions" : true,
"forOf" : true,
"classes" : true
}
}
Repo with JavaScript, JSON, and YAML versions of the starter files, updated periodically:
Aren't all the comments wrong?
"no-debugger": 0, // disallow use of debugger
Actually allows use of debugger.
I wanna put 2's on all of these rules and then try to code...
@cotterjd Not all rules can be enabled simultaneously. For example, the stylistic rules are often mutually exclusive. Using a disciplined and consistent approach to whitespace in code is good for readability, but one must still decide which style to follow. For example, you can require a space in certain places, or forbid it. Either has the benefit of consistency, but one cannot follow both.
A better starting point for new code, is perhaps:
{
"extends": "eslint:recommended",
"rules": {
}
}
This automatically enables all rules relating to errors and best practices. There is also eslint:all
.
See https://eslint.org/docs/user-guide/configuring.
Quite the irony that this file isn't linter proof, since a json file can't contain comments...
Hi, I added new rules and removed deprecated rules (as of ESLint 0.24.1) in my fork.
