I intended to do these more often, but that didn't really work out. But hey at least there's one for the whole year!
2018 has been an interesting year, the AGoT community has seen some ups and downs in terms of player count. L5R and Keyforge have both had an impact in tempting Thronesians to darker sides, but there has been some growth.
There are now 14000 registered accounts on the site (or which only about 1000 or so are Red Viper 11 troll accounts...), that's an increase of about 4000 for the year.
This year, 371,056 games were played on the site. Of those, 26,506 were single player games and 48,924 had no winner. That's a small amount of growth vs last year, which surprised me as I was expecting numbers to take a hit.
Of those that were not single player and did have a winner, the faction statistics break down like this:

This year, after paypal fees and currency conversions, a total of £248.76 was generously donated, by you, the users of The Iron Throne. Thank you to each and every one of you, no matter how big or small the donation! Additionally, a couple of generous people have set up a recurring payment to donate every month. This is very kind and much appreciated.
The servers cost £410 a year, and I have a couple of other expenses that make life easier for development and error reporting. As you can see, the costs were not covered this year, so I've had to make up the shortfall. As I've previously stated, I have no issues with this, as I don't do this for profit. The numbers are just for transparancy :)

I've recently begun working on improving the infrastructure the site runs on, by starting a port to dotnet core (using C#, the language that my day job consists of). This will likely mean nothing to most of you, but the purpose of it is to make future development easier and also to try and unite some of the various "teki" clones that have spawned since The Iron Throne went live and make it easier to make new ones in the future. If this goes well, and I do my job properly, then noone should notice it happening. But once that's in place I have a few ideas for improving the site, which will be easier to do.
