#Project Tigr Books
Getting more young people interested in technology is vital for the sustainability of the tech industry in Bath and Bristol. We've written here before about what we're doing teaching in the Bath area, and why other people should start helping us too.
We're now on kickstarter with a project to turn some of our online materials into physical books to make it easier for more people to teach their own friends and family to code. Our materials are not a railroad of instructions, unlike most typical code websites where everyone makes exactly the same thing; however they inspire creativity and everyone makes something different. For example, one book will teach creating your own interactive emoji. Our materials are also accessible for everyone, regardless of any previous ability, everyone can make something substantial in under an hour.
Backers can chose to get a copy of any of our three books:
- Computer Science Juniors - introducting to programming with Scratch for ages 8 to 11
- Code your own emoji - create an interactive emoji using popular web technologies for ages 10+
- Code your own solar system - create an animated solar system using popular web technologies for ages 10+
By buying now, books will be cheaper than when they're fully published. Or can be donated to your own community organisation, or to one we have previously selected. However, you only have until September 24th to back and ensure you get a copy before Christmas!
