Use built-in <<
overload
#include <glm/gtx/io.hpp>
auto mat = glm::ortho(0.0f, 800.0f, 0.0f, 600.0f, 0.1f, 100.0f);
cout << mat << endl;
Gives
[[ 0.002, 0.000, 0.000, -1.000]
[ 0.000, 0.003, 0.000, -1.000]
[ 0.000, 0.000, -0.020, -1.002]
[ 0.000, 0.000, 0.000, 1.000]]

how do u resolve this confusion?
