Why Politicians Should Champion Liquid Democracy

Why Politicians Should Champion Liquid Democracy

1. Sincerely listen to your district

Everyone says they’re the right choice because they listen to the people: now you can prove it.

You still have an active role to play, and people can still delegate to you within the liquid democracy to represent their voice.

2. Strengthen democracy overall

  • Create a system much more resistant to corruption.
  • Shift the attention from personalities back to issues.
  • Involve more people in the process
  • Bring in more of the reasonable middle ground, instead of just the very vocal extremes that dominate when it’s costly to participate.
  • Give people a chance to legally have their voice heard more than once every 4 years.

4. Help catalyze positive change for all levels of government

People will have more faith in liquid democracy and be more willing to adopt it, when they see it already successfully used.

5. Tons of extra buzz for you and your campaigns

Candidates who run on this sort of platform have little trouble getting on the national news.

Journalists love this story.

6. Historic significance

You could be the first liquid democracy politician in American history. 🤔
