One more week of school curriculum left! This week, we'll be covering PC architecture, and next is a 'build week' which is
interview prep. I have done notes and reviewed this week's content already but not done the homework yet. Usually I get through
the homework in two days, though, and I already know how a computer is put together from custom-making my own in my early 20s, so
this week shouldn't be too big a deal.
My tech interview with Lambda is on the 26th, so I'll be preparing for that this week. Have a lot still to get through before
endorsement:
Before Tech Interview on the 26th:
- review all Anki card material and notes
- finish re-writing notes on (optional: Java, TypeScript, Azure, & Postman)
- prepare examples for the tech interview according to their very generic rubric
- write blurbs and notes about each project to review, maybe comment it into the project
- maybe prepare a presentation
- clean up all project code
- Cracking the Coding Interview every day if possible
- memorize/study CS more and pseudocode for the various data structures and algorithms
- take notes on GO4, Clean Code, the Clean Coder, and Intro to Algos books
Optional/As Time Allows/After the 29th:
- anki cards for Azure and Postman
- work on TS front end
- work on Java back end
- maybe contact CL about doing some work there for free (open-source credit)
- take the final coding challenge sometime in the next few weeks, not sure when they will let us have access to it
The closer we get to the end, the more nervous I get. All week, I've been rewriting React/Redux notes to review and I am just
about done with that. We studied graphs, which I got a two on, and it was very difficult. I worked hard for that two.
Disappointed I got a two but it probably doesn't matter that much.
I also have transcribing to do this week. It's totally doable but I have to keep up a certain pace this week and next to have it
all done on time. Half of it is due on the 29th, and the other half of it is due on the 1st; again, totally doable, just need to
keep up a certain pace.
Also will be re-watching Frontend Masters content on design and maybe some other things as time allows.
After the 29th, my schedule will be a LOT clearer and I can relax a little bit. Then i will be able to go back to focusing more
on Cracking the Coding Interview and whatever else I need to prepare for an MS interview.
My notes on the core curriculum will be all done; will still need to take notes on the books I've read & maybe do the questions
portion of my notes but I'll be able to more easily review because everything will be nice and organized and neat in my new
notebooks. Might even need another new one soon, since I am going through them so fast. I'm really proud of my notebooks, though.
I rewrote all my notes in Bluebooks, which are college ruled and have 10 tab stickers (front & back) and 10 front-cover labels.
They're all organized by language with extra pages at the end of each section in case i learn something new, tabbed, with a table
of contents at the front; Cornell notes for all languages/topics. Going to keep this up with everything i do in the foreseeable
future, or at least until i get a digital solution figured out. That'll probably not happen until after i get a job.
Anki + Cornell note-taking = learning like crazy!! Wish i had known about Anki before Lambda started.
So I've got a full two weeks coming up; excited and very nervous at the same time. Is what I have accomplished worth what I want
it to be worth? That is the big question i am wondering, especially with coronavirus coming at such a bad time. We'll see.
