Busy! Really want to try to keep up on this but the pace has been crazy. Almost done with build week, though. Got my CS project
deployed last night on Zeit and on my own hosting server; decided at the last minute not to do a 3d version, that the time would be
better spent either transcribing or reviewing curriculum. I'm fairly happy with it; should get a three on it. It's supposed to be
a portfolio piece and i will put it in my portfolio, but I must admit I'm not that impressed with it like I am with some other
pieces. I do feel fairly good about data structures and algorithms, though; not 100 percent where i want to be, but nowhere near
as nervous/un-confident as i used to be.
John Mitchell came out with a lot of new written material for the Java unit, so I plan to take notes on that too before school is
up. In terms of reviewing, I am doing Anki flash cards for 20-30 minutes a day, more if I feel like it and i have time, and then
also re-handwriting all my notes I've made during the curriculum. I've also got a couple spots where I wasn't great at note-
taking, so I'll also beef up those areas, and I get to use my new notebook, which should in theory hold everything I need.
I will be doing this for what'll be covered in the technical interview first and then anything extra after that in case the
notebook doesn't hold everything I took notes on, which it might not. I've learned a TON on the side since I started Lambda.
Still also taking notes on the gang of four design patterns book when I have time; I've acquired a couple other important-to-CS
books as well but IDK if I'll have time to read them in the next month. We'll see.
I have scheduled my technical interview for the last Friday of my schooling at 1pm. So I have about a month to prepare. There's
a handy list to keep track of what i need to put together, so once i've got some reviewing done and I'm feeling better about that,
I'll put together the materials and/or a presentation. It will last one hour and cover the following topics:
1. Responsive design concepts
2. Accessibility
3. JavaScript Fundamentals
4. State management
5. Client-side authentication
6. Client-side routing
7. Asynchronous patterns
8. Form Management
9. Working with APIs in React
10. Node Express Router
11. Server-side Authentication
12. Database organization
So I'm thinking AQC website, AQC Node back end, build week ticket project, and portfolio will likely cover most of it. But i'll
attend to this after I feel better about reviewing.
Whew, everything coming together. I'm nervous about the future. Things are going so well and I keep waiting for the other shoe to
drop, but there is no other shoe.
