Impact divided by Resources

Figuring out what to work on is easy.

  1. Estimate the impact of each thing item in your to do list.
  2. Estimate the resources required to execute each one.
  3. Order by maximum impact per unit of resources.
  4. Start with the top one.

What ONE metric is king?

Have a single objective that clarifies all future decisions.

For example, with the sample metric: "total active landlords in the next 3 months"

  • When deciding whether to do something, simply answer the question: "Will this increase total active landlords in the next 3 months?"
  • When deciding between N options, simply answer the question: "Which one of these increases the total active landlords in the next 3 months the most?"
