Networking & Outreach

Outreach:
The contact I will reach out to is a friend of a friend who has worked in the Tech industry for almost twenty years.

-Paul encouraged me when I was first deciding to enter the industry. I hope to update him on my progress.
-I have his email and his phone number. I plan to send a brief email to catch up, and ask if he would like to talk via phone for a more in depth conversation.
-After we talk, I plan to follow up on the advice he gave me for resources, project ideas, and general developer awareness.


Networking:
I plan to attend a Meetup of Denver.rb.

-This event interests me because I might actually be able to understand what is going on. 
-Every meetup I've been to has been improved my comfort level with developers and the way they socialize with one another. I have no idea what/if I can contribute. Wonderment and affability?
-Typically people will give you a card, or a Slack handle, or an email address. I always try to follow up with a quick thanks, and maybe a suggestion to meet for coffee.
