This guide is for homelab admins who understand IPv4s well but find setting up IPv6 hard or annoying because things work differently. In some ways, managing an IPv6 network can be simpler than IPv4, one just needs to learn some new concepts and discard some old ones.
Let’s begin.
First of all, there are some concepts that one must unlearn from ipv4:
How to keep using adblockers on chrome and chromium
How to keep using adblockers on chrome and chromium
google's manifest v3 has no analouge to the webRequestBlocking API, which is neccesary for (effective) adblockers to work
starting in chrome version 127, the transition to mv3 will start cutting off the use of mv2 extensions alltogether
this will inevitably piss of enterprises when their extensions don't work, so the ExtensionManifestV2Availability key was added and will presumably stay forever after enterprises complain enough
You can use this as a regular user, which will let you keep your mv2 extensions even after they're supposed to stop working
Notes on Modern UI Development: Taking Ideas from Spaced Repetition
Introduction
I have been working on a modern typing training application for the last couple of days.
One of the main motivations was to build an app with a modern UI and minimal distractions, enabling to fully focus on the training aspect.
You can read more about the original idea and thought process here as well as some notes on iterating over the details here.
After adding some minimal auto close functionalities for the code training section, you can read about it here, another important feature was to make the text training part more entertaining.
Installing Windows and Linux into the same partition
Installing Windows and Linux into the same partition
But WHY?
There was a reddit post about installing Arch on NTFS3 partition. Since Windows and Linux doesn't have directories with same names under the /(C:\), I thought it's possible, and turned out it was actually possible. If you are not familiar to Linux, for example you've searched on Google "how to dualboot Linux and Windos" or brbrbr... you mustn't try this. This is not practical.
Pre-requirements
UEFI system
Any Linux live-boot CD/DVD/USB... with Linux kernel newer than 5.15
Whenever the topic of Bitcoin's energy usage comes up, there's always a flood of hastily-constructed comments by people claiming that their favourite cryptocurrency isn't like Bitcoin, that their favourite cryptocurrency is energy-efficient and scalable and whatnot.
They're wrong, and are quite possibly trying to scam you. Let's look at why.
What is a cryptocurrency anyway?
There are plenty of intricate and complex articles trying to convince you that cryptocurrencies are the future. They usually heavily use jargon and vague terms, make vague promises, and generally give you a sense that there must be something there, but you always come away from them more confused than you were before.
It's incredible how many collective developer hours have been wasted on pushing through the turd that is ES Modules (often mistakenly called "ES6 Modules"). Causing a big ecosystem divide and massive tooling support issues, for... well, no reason, really. There are no actual advantages to it. At all.
It looks shiny and new and some libraries use it in their documentation without any explanation, so people assume that it's the new thing that must be used. And then I end up having to explain to them why, unlike CommonJS, it doesn't actually work everywhere yet, and may never do so. For example, you can't import ESM modules from a CommonJS file! (Update: I've released a module that works around this issue.)
And then there's Rollup, which apparently requires ESM to be u

Peter Naur's classic 1985 essay "Programming as Theory Building" argues that
a program is not its source code. A program is a shared mental
construct (he uses the word theory) that lives in the minds of the people who
work on it. If you lose the people, you lose the program. The code is merely a
written representation of the program, and it's lossy, so you can't reconstruct
