Set up a new Jekyll project

This short guides shows you how to setup a new skeleton Jekyll project, using the Jekyll CLI to generate the files for you.

This guide does not require Jekyll to be installed globally. Rather, it takes you through installing Jekyll in a new project that only has one file in it, then uses that project Jekyll to create all the Jekyll base files in the same directory.

Under Jekyll docs, you can see the Installation page. That provides links to install for each OS. These are covered in some detail here.

• ResourceLocation now throw on non-snake-case names instead of silently lowercasing for you, so you probably should go and change all those string constants now. More precisely, domains must only contain alphanumeric lowercase, underscore (_), dash (-), or dot (.). Paths have the same restrictions, but can also contain forward slashes (/).

Deploy Rocket using Letsencrypt and nginx

Information

This guide uses the domain your-domain.tld and its www. prefixed version. It starts the rocket application on 127.0.0.1:1337 and as the user www-data. The proxy listens on port 80 and 443 though.
If you need other values, update them accordingly in your nginx and systemd configs.

Prerequisites

You need to have nginx, certbot and rust installed.

Overview

This is a bash script that will automatically turn your wifi off if you connect your computer to an ethernet connection and turn wifi back on when you unplug your ethernet cable/adapter. If you decide to turn wifi on for whatever reason, it will remember that choice. This was improvised from this mac hint to work with Yosemite, and without hard-coding the adapter names. It's supposed to support growl, but I didn't check that part. I did, however, add OSX notification center support. Feel free to fork and fix any issues you encounter.

Most the credit for these changes go to Dave Holland.
