With the new theming in AppCompat, a lot of assets are tinted automatically for you via theme attributes. That has often led me to wonder "where the hell did this color come from?" You can replace your normal theme with this debug theme to help figure out the source of that color.

#440000

#004400

#444400

#440044

#FFFF00

How to make faster Android build without sacrificing new api lint check

Original solution sacrifices new api lint check.

Here my solution:

int minSdk = hasProperty('minSdk') ? minSdk.toInteger() : 16

apply plugin: 'com.android.application'

android {
compileSdkVersion 23

Gradle tab completion for Bash. Works on both Mac and Linux.

Gradle tab completion script for Bash

A tab completion script that works for Bash. Relies on the BSD md5 command on Mac and md5sum on Linux, so as long as you have one of those two commands, this should work.

Usage

$ gradle [TAB]
#!/bin/bash
adb devices | awk '{ print $1 }' | grep -v "List" | grep -v "192.168." | xargs -I{} adb -s {} reboot
watch -d -n 1 devices
