There is a ladder up from the forward end of the compartment that leads to the Sail. Two periscopes are here. An automatic chart table is here. Sonar lies to the port-forward, and the comm shack to the starboard-forward."
Sonar is a room. Sonar is starboard-forward of Control. The description is "A medium-sized compartment housing the sonar systems and sonar operators. Just adjacent to Control, which lies to the Aft."
Sonar Equipment is a room. Sonar Equipment is forward of Sonar. The description is "A room which contains the various systems and computers utilized by operators from Sonar, which is just aft."
Comm Shack is a room. Comm Shack is port-forward of Control. The description is "A room filled with communications devices and crypto gear, there are all manner of dire TOP SECRET warnings on the hatch. Control is just aft so the Skipper doesn't have to walk far to get his mail. "

Tables with built-in benches are arranged on the port side of the room. On the starboard side is a serving buffet and storage cabinets. To the starboard is the galley, and forward is the trash room."
Galley is starboard of Mess Room. The description is "The galley, while cramped, nevertheless will turn out over four hundred meals a day plus snacks. The food on submarines is, in fact, very good - you don't want to make your crew irritable! A storage area is just aft."
Galley Stores is aft of Galley. The description is "The galley stores food and supplies here. There is a refrigerated compartment and a dry storage section."
Trash Room is forward of Mess Room. The description is "A small compartment with a compacter and what looks like a pneumatic delivery system, where trash can be compacted and then (if there's nobody around the sub) ejected into the ocean with weights in the bag so it doesn't float to the surface and give you away."
Aft Wardroom is forward of the Trash Room. The description is "The officers eat in a private dining room, smaller that the Mess Room and somewhat more luxurious (although 'luxury' is a hilarious concept on a submarine). This is the aft part of the room, which is wider."
