Alloy Magnetic: Front End Dev Position

Dear (Megan Kilpatrick, CEO, in the event that I cannot find a hiring manager),

My adevnture in software development has been both the most taxing and rewarding adventure that I have ever been on. And I am excited by the prospect of continuing that adventure at Alloy Magnetic. There is an intersection between technology and service that has been calling my name for much of the last 4 years, and in November of 2019, I began the process of answering. I would love the chance to join your team as a Jr. Front-End Developer. My experience is in hospitality management, and I pride myself on how I treat others. There is something awesome about watching a person smile over a plate of fries, but I feel I was missing out on opportunities to directly and positively effect the lives of others.

My team mentality has been refined during my time at Turing School of Software Development. It is hard to start learning things you have little or no concept of, with people you don't know. Egos have to be sacrificed to a certain extent in order for everyone to grow. Teamwork has been essential to my personal success, and the success of every team I have been on. My team first mentality originated over years of two-a-days in August sun, and cultivated in the resturaunt industry. I learned to communicate with diverse and eclectic groups of individuals, empathize with their unique stories, and problem solve as a collective. I learned how to lead and how to follow, and that getting out of the way isn't my style.

I swear I felt like Harry Potter the first time I got an h1 to show up in the browser, and the joy I had watching a for loop increment in the console was pure and innocent and also made me feel like the smartest person ever. My goal is to take my newest passion of software development, combine it with my favorite skill as a team member, and use it to complete my life's calling, which is to make my community a better place.

I appreciate your reading this!
