DTR Memo

Project: Rails Engine

  • Focus on frontend BG
  • Project manegement and workflow

Schedule Expectations:

When are we available to work together and individually? BG

  • Be here before 8:30, leaves by 5:30

  • Remote available 24/7

  • Committed to one weekend day at Turing, possibly a second if it is needed

  • Leaving for Christmas Break will be in NYC

  • Crystal will be here the week before break

  • Posse - Monday after / Thursday lunch / Friday spike JH

  • Mornings - Golick meets 8:30 - 9:00

  • Okay to stay until 7, can work remote.

  • Willing to work all day Saturday.

  • Holidays will be here.

  • Posse - Con talks, Tuesdays and Thursdays C

  • Arrive at 8:15, leaves at 8:15 at night.

  • This weekend will not be around at all.

  • Going to Salt Lake for Christmas. JS

  • Aim to be at Turing before 8:00, stay until 5 unless planned.

  • Slack all the time

  • Family here over Christmas; Unavailble first weekend

  • Expectiing to got to meetups.

Workflow Expectations:

Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests:

  • Start with a branch and push right away - work in progress pull requests [WIP] at the beginning
  • Pivitol Tracker - weighting tasks by time / difficulty
  • Stick to the process
  • Spike branches for diving into something new, but we are not pulling Spike into development
  • Using development staging branch
  • Naming conventions for git branch
  • Likes pair programming
  • Balancing solo coding and pairing to maximize productivity
  • Standups - stick to progress, next steps, blockers

Expectations for giving and receiving feedback:

  • BG - I love it, please do it
  • JH - Actionable and specific; Working on finishing technical explanation, so would appreciate not getting cut off
