This is a guide to setup Arch Linux in Raspberry Pi 4, using macOS as the auxiliary system.

Raspberry Pi Setup Guide

This guide will use either a macOS or an ArchLinux base system, to prepare a microSD card with Arch Linux for Raspberry Pi.

If someone managed to do the initial setup using Windows, please let me know, so I can add to this guide.

This guide will be verbose at times for some simple tasks. This is intended to help people just starting out, so it's not confusing. If something confuses you, let me know and I'll try my best to answer it.

Steps to create textured mesh from point cloud using Meshlab

Steps to create Textured Mesh from Point Cloud using Meshlab

Get your PointCloud into MeshLab

  • Import the pointcloud file in ".ply" file format in Meshlab. Before importing make sure you do some pre-processing / cleaning on point cloud so as to ease the process of meshing.

Point Cloud Simplification and Normals Computation

  • Next we need to reduce the number of point samples for smooth meshing.
    • So go to Filters -> Point Set -> Point Cloud Simplification. Enter Number of samples circa 5% of original number of points. Make sure Best Sample Heuristic is checked.
  • After point cloud simplification, make sure to select Simplified point cloud in the Show Layer Dialog on the right hand side. If not visible, it can be opened by navigating to View -> Show Layer Dialog. Now we need to compute normals for point set.
  • So go to Filters -> Point Set -> Compute normals for point sets . Enter Neighbour num between 10 - 100. Initially try with 10 and

Simple guide for setting up OTG modes on the Raspberry Pi Zero

Raspberry Pi Zero OTG Mode

Simple guide for setting up OTG modes on the Raspberry Pi Zero - By Andrew Mulholland (gbaman).

The Raspberry Pi Zero (and model A and A+) support USB On The Go, given the processor is connected directly to the USB port, unlike on the B, B+ or Pi 2 B, which goes via a USB hub.
Because of this, if setup to, the Pi can act as a USB slave instead, providing virtual serial (a terminal), virtual ethernet, virtual mass storage device (pendrive) or even other virtual devices like HID, MIDI, or act as a virtual webcam!
It is important to note that, although the model A and A+ can support being a USB slave, they are missing the ID pin (is tied to ground internally) so are unable to dynamically switch between USB master/slave mode. As such, they default to USB master mode. There is no easy way to change this right now.
It is also important to note, that a USB to UART serial adapter is not needed for any of these guides, as may be documented elsewhere across the int

Moving commits between branches

Example: Moving up to a few commits to another branch

Branch A has commits (X,Y) that also need to be in Branch B. The cherry-pick operations should be done in the same chronological order that the commits appear in Branch A.

cherry-pick does support a range of commits, but if you have merge commits in that range, it gets really complicated

git checkout branch-B
git cherry-pick X
git cherry-pick Y

Setup armv7h chroot under x86_64 host (Archlinux/Archlinuxarm biased)

Setup armv7h chroot under x86_64 host (Archlinux/Archlinuxarm biased)

Simple way to setup an arm chroot for building packages for your arm devices. This is an alternative to cross-compiling where you are limited to only linking against the libs in your toolchain.

Setup chroot-fs

You can store the chroot wherever you like. I choose to store it in a disk-image which I mount to my filesystem.
