JP Liew: I spoke to PayPal, they said seller (Digikey) enforced a certain rule where the paymant cannot be from paypal balance

JP Liew: I don't want to pay using credit card
JP Liew: I have been able to pay using paypal balance to other sellers
JP Liew: it looks like a configuration from Digikey that is doing this
JP Liew: this is the first time I encounter this using the same PayPal account

Denise_ext_2333: I understand what  you are trying to do, however  you will need to use your credit card through Paypal.  You would need to set that up with Paypal and if you would like to use just a bank account that needs to be set up with Paypal as well.

JP Liew: right now I have balance in Paypal
JP Liew: that I can use to pay Digikey
JP Liew: since Digikey accept Paypal
JP Liew: but the problem I am having is

JP Liew: and I have been using this Paypal account to pay other sellers without any problem

Denise_ext_2333: That is a contract thing with Paypal and Digikey.
JP Liew: if that is the case, what is the rational behind? since Digikey already can accept credit card?
JP Liew: why need Paypal to go through another hoop to enter credit card?
JP Liew: If I wish to use my credit card, I can enter directly on Digikey
JP Liew: without going through Paypla
JP Liew: now, I use my credit card to pay PayPal and Paypal pays Digikey
JP Liew: this is not making any logical sense
Denise_ext_2333: Most people set up with their Paypal a direct bank account debit
JP Liew: it is just a burden to customer
JP Liew: most business won't have their bank link to PayPal for security reason

This is two years old and paypal still doesn't work as expected on DigiKey. Btw. chat doesn't work either.

I eventually found out that when Digikey setup their PayPal payment, they have enforced customer need to have credit card tied to PayPal before the payment will go through.

Second thing is their front line people, don't take the initiative to pass the information to the persons that make decisions.

Third, is their decision makers don't give a damn too.

So, if you wish to buy from them, just follow their system, if not buy somewhere else.
