Creating a dynamic site-to-site VPN with OpenSwan on Ubuntu 10.04 on EC2

Wes Winham winhamwr@gmail.com

There are many tutorials floating around the web that almost get you a dynamic VPN in EC2. The goal of this tutorial is to be a one-stop-shop for this specific setup.

# sudo ln -s ~/nginx.conf unicorn.conf
upstream app_server {
server unix:/tmp/unicorn_padrino.sock fail_timeout=0;
}
server {
listen 80;
charset utf-8;
server_name db.innshine.com;

拥抱 Rails 4 —— 详述 Rails 4 的新变化

Routes

小心地使用 Match(Rails 3 已实现)

Rails 3 提供了 match 方法供我们自定义 routes,然而我们要小心使用它以避免“跨站脚本攻击”(XSS Attack)。比如像这样的 routes:

注:(r3 代表 Rails 3,r4 代表 Rails 4)

# routes.rb

A shell script to build openssl for iOS and Mac. It currently builds: Mac -> i386 & x86_64 // iOS -> armv7, arm64 // iOS Simulator -> i386 & x86_64.
#!/bin/bash
# This script builds the iOS and Mac openSSL libraries
# Download openssl http://www.openssl.org/source/ and place the tarball next to this script

Ubuntu 12.04 Ruby, Rails, Nginx, Unicorn

Ubuntu 12.04, Ruby, Rails, Nginx, Unicorn and git-deploy

In the seemlingly endless search for the actual correct and easy way to deploy a Rails app, we have tried several ways. We tried out using Apache2 and running a cluster of Thin servers. With the built in threading of Puma we decided to use it with Nginx.

Server Setup

  • Create new server
  • Login to new server
    • ssh root@IPaddress (you can also use the domain name if you have the DNS setup already)
    • accept the RSA key
