The default nginx configuration file inside /etc/nginx/sites-available/default
# Author: Zameer Ansari
# You should look at the following URL's in order to grasp a solid understanding
# of Nginx configuration files in order to fully unleash the power of Nginx.

# Generally, you will want to move this file somewhere, and start with a clean
# file but keep this around for reference. Or just disable in sites-enabled.

Express.js role-based permissions middleware
// the main app file
import express from "express";
import loadDb from "./loadDb"; // dummy middleware to load db (sets request.db)
import authenticate from "./authentication"; // middleware for doing authentication
import permit from "./authorization"; // middleware for checking if user's role is permitted to make request
const app = express(),
api = express.Router();
// first middleware will setup db connection

Vagrant Cheat Sheet

Typing vagrant from the command line will display a list of all available commands.

Be sure that you are in the same directory as the Vagrantfile when running these commands!

Creating a VM

  • vagrant init -- Initialize Vagrant with a Vagrantfile and ./.vagrant directory, using no specified base image. Before you can do vagrant up, you'll need to specify a base image in the Vagrantfile.
  • vagrant init <boxpath> -- Initialize Vagrant with a specific box. To find a box, go to the public Vagrant box catalog. When you find one you like, just replace it's name with boxpath. For example, vagrant init ubuntu/trusty64.

Starting a VM

  • vagrant up -- starts vagrant environment (also provisions only on the FIRST vagrant up)
KEYBINDINGS
byobu keybindings can be user defined in /usr/share/byobu/keybindings/ (or within .screenrc if byobu-export was used). The common key bindings
are:
F2 - Create a new window
F3 - Move to previous window
F4 - Move to next window
