Participated in a playtest yesterday. The game was Night Drifters. A game about making all the stakes leading up to The Big Race. and then obviously, racing, and seeing the outcome. Cast List
Rose: A girl with too much money, and the ability to make a spy network with it. Which she does. For excessive blackmail purposes. Zaquiri: A guy who likes helping guys out of the closet. Buck Star: A guy who owns a dude ranch and is totally incredibly straight. SwitchBlade: A lady who read Catcher in the Rye once, misunderstood it, and ended up making a queer biker gang.
Scene 1
The story opened up with everyone at the mall trying to find christmas gifts. They all find the same gift that they all need for whatever purpose. A frisbee made out of an incredibly historic tree that was cut down due to "developmental purposes". When they cut it down, they realized the rings were a happy face.
And by "development purposes" I mean Buck Star paid off the local comission to cut it down because it was ruining his view.
Zaquiri tries to steal it. Buck mistakes him for a girl and kabedons him. He realizes his mistake and goes full macho because of it. Then Mary Berry Christmas Cutie Supreme gets ahold of it. She's about to purchase it.
We manage to convince her to let us race for it. So that we can give it to her as a gift.
Somehow, everyone agrees to this.
Scene 2.1
Buck Star goes to try and explain himself to Zaquiri. He rides up to Zaquiri's entirely fuschia mansion (with purple astroturf) on a limited edition Honda Motocomp. He's wearing a three piece suit, because he has a thing after this. Holding a note and a bag of Buck Star Coffee.
Zaquiri opens the door, wearing a bath robe, leaning against the doorframe sensually, and staring deeply into Buck Stars eyes.
Buck flusters and just hands over the note and the coffee and drives off in a panic. Zaquiri looks the note. The last 1/4 of it is essentially "I'm Straight." The first 3/4s are a badly blacked out inner monologue. Zaquiri is apparently completely illiterate, but is able to tell anyway.
Scene 2.1.1
SwitchBlade and Buck Star cross each other on the road. SwitchBlade is riding a tricked out harley. Buck Star is riding a collapsible scooter that can't even pass 45mph.
Scene 2.2
Switch Blade invites Zaquiri to her gang. He instantly accepts. They plaster her ride with gay cowboy porn in an attempt to throw off Buck during the race. A bunch of Rose's highschool spies fall out of the pink plastic tree that hid the entryway to what was dubbed "The Spank Bank".
Scene 2.3
Rose special orders billboards at the sight of the race, The Christmas Oil Rig, made to insight everyone. One of Rose's more serious goons stops Buck Star on the road to inform him that he needs to throw the race, or else he'll publicize the letter that he wrote to Zaquiri.
Scene 3. The Race
Rose arrives in 12 different cars, all Teslas, and picks one at random.
Zaquiri arrives in his custom electric fuschia themed Tesla. Wearing Switch Blade's jacket (1 of 7).
Switch Blade arrives on her Harley.
Buck Star arrives in a Miata Suzuki Cappuccino.
Switch Blade makes a romantic gesture to Mary Berry. Zaquiri gives Buck a smile. Buck Star panics again and floors his gas. Rose starts planning.
Everyone peels out on the straightaway through the shopping center leading up to the oil rig, keeping neck and neck the entire time. They reach the turn towards the oil rig, which is filled with fake snowmen. Switch Blade decapitates all of them, calling them phonies the entire time. Which results in everyone spinning out.
The entry to the oil right was a triple intersection with no lights that they all barelled through recklessly. Zaquiri's the first out of the race. His car goes flying into the sky. Buck Star peels out from under a truck and stops. He gets out of the car, kneels down to Zaquiri to help him up. The fuschia tesla explodes into pink fireworks next to a "Horses Are Gay" billboard as Zaquiri says "Giddy Up." They join back into the race together.
The last leg is through the oil rig itself. Over a flaming pillar of gas.
It didn't take long for Buck Star to be out of the race too. He drove right through the pillar of flame, and the car caught fire, leaving him and Zaquiri safely making out in a flaming heap.
Rose and Switch Blade were the last ones left in the race. Switch Blade won by a landslide, jumping over the pillar, pulling out a cigarette, lighting it with the huge burst of flame, and riding the boost right into the finish line as she finished a full drag.
Epilogue
Mary Berry joined Switch Blade's gang, after being presented the winning log. She invited Buck Star to join as well, deciding after a stunt like that he isn't a rich phoney anymore. He accepted.
Switch Blade and Mary Berry enjoyed a nice snow-lit night at Buck's Estate. Buck Star managed to come out on his own terms. Zaquiri got a hot guy. Rose ultimately just kept living her life as normal.
