The way in which one works is the way in which one will adapt and think. This is pretty much true. That or they;ll go nuts :P
Its like the often mocked kabalistic concept of the middle pillar, Too much mercy makes us weak too much severity tyrannical, here the happy balance is between structure and comoftable disorder.

Additionally gitlabs projects dont make any sense they dont promote structured thinking.
Its like encouraging people to bge that guy who haphazardly puts sticky notes all over the office.
