San Francisco

San Francisco

Here's a list of my favorite stuff to eat, see, do in SF!

Eat

  • The Progress. Sister restaurant of the famous state bird provision, but much better IMO. It's my favorite restaurant in SF.
  • Mr Tipples. A jazz bar that has amazing cocktails and a great dimsum menu. This place shouldn't exist and it is what makes SF special IMO. You can't go to SF without coming here.
  • Bread and belly. Best bakery/cafe in SF IMO.
  • Daeho. Holy shit I didn't know korean food could be so good, get the kalbijim with ox tail & cheese on top! (what everyone gets there basically)
  • Hon's wuntun house. Great dumplings and cantonese food in general. Get the XLB, the doughnut wrapped in rice, anything on the first page of the menu.
  • Rich Table. Amazing restaurant, similar to the progress. Like the progress, if you're only two people there are some walk-in tables every day. Better to book though.
  • Aziza. Best brunch in the city by far. Amazing food. (Never tried that place for dinner but I really want to.)
  • Fatted Calf. It's an amazing butcher. They make amazing sandwiches, but if you can you should try their deli. Try some slices of Lomo for example :) Also the (seasonal) beef jerky
  • B to go. sandwiches! as good as fatted calf!
  • mr szechuan. Great sichuan food, the best in SF IMO. Best food to order for delivery as well!
  • In-n-out. Famous chain, if you're not from the west coast then you have to try it. Super cheap and best mcdonalds-kind burger around IMO. I love it.
  • Super Duper. A bit more chic than in-n-out and super tasty, this is the burger chain I go again and again for burgers.
  • the pancake house. Great chinese restaurant, everything is good there!
  • Chili House. Great Chinese restaurant.
  • Loquat. Amazing little cafe/bakery, everything there is great but the Babka is the best.
  • dumpling home and dumpling story (same owner). Great soup dumplings (XLB), a bit on the pricey side,
  • Z & Y. Good sichuan food, go with a large group if you can.
  • Kuishinbo. Best all-around Japanese restaurant for me.
  • Tartine. They have the best bread in SF, as well as amazing pastries. eat their country loaf bread, or chocolate cake.
  • Boho petite. Legit French patisserie.
  • B Patisserie. Great chocolate banana croissant and kouign aman. On the heavy side though (like Arsicault).
  • Arsicault. Super famous for their croissants, but on the heavy side.
  • Thorough Bread and Pastries. My go-to bakery coz it's close by and legit
  • Arizmendi. Amazing bakery and they always have yummy vegan pizza.
  • 85C. Asian bakery with a ton of cool stuff.
  • Sotto Mare. This is an establishment in the city, they have great cioppino which is an Italian dish invented in SF!
  • Nopa. Solid place for dinner and cocktails.
  • Little shucker. Best lobster rolls in the city.
  • Frances. I know I went there and I liked it, but I don't remember much XD still made the list
  • Colombus Burger. Best legit burger joint in the city IMO. Opens really late, so perfect after drinking :D
  • U Dessert Story. Great asian desserts. Very good bingsoo, and mango toast (it's a sit down place).
  • Bake Cheese Tart. Their cheese tarts are sooo good.
  • Doppio Zero. most legit italian pizza in the city.
  • Gusto Pinsa Romana. Not pizza but pinsa, really good as well!
  • Flour + Water. Great American pizza.
  • Garden Creamery. Lots of vegan icecreams
  • Bodega. The only vietnanese restaurant that tastes like in Vietnam.

Drink

  • Felix
  • Southern pacific brewery. A cool brewery, can be loud and crowded!
  • Hotel kabuki. Best cocktails in the city. Not much seating, mostly chill, doesn't really have a bar vibe.
  • Cold drinks bar. Cozy chic cocktail place. Great if you are two.
  • Cityscape. Great view.
  • Madrone Art Bar. Kinda divey but super special!
  • Emporium. Arcade bar, can get noisy later during the evening.
  • Anina. Great cocktails, they have a nice terasse but often packed!
  • BierGarten. Only beer garden in the city, and quite nice at that!

Work

  • citizenM
  • andytown cafe in the salesforce park
  • haraz
  • pixlcat cafe

Activities

  • Church of wheels. Go skating there.
  • Allbirds. Go buy some shoes there.
  • Blue Bottle Coffee. Go get some coffee there.
  • Benchmark Vanness. You can go boulder (climb) there, it's $30 for a day pass (and you can rent shoes and chalk).
  • Dolores Park. Go there during the weekend if you can. You can drink from there, and people will try to sell things to you, best park to hang out! And it's one of the special place that makes SF what it is!
  • Zide door. There's a church in SF that sells magic mushrooms to its members. I'm not kidding! If that's your thing here you go.
