As this is python for macros [0-9] you can use \d
I would say that usage of the ^ and $ is not correct in this case as it would match ip address only in case it is all we have in the string. Here is the regexp which will match valid IP address(not valid usable, but valid from the RFC perspective) :

I've tested this out and it seems match just the same:
...vs...
IPv4 regexp wont work when we have ip address in a string like ""255.255.255.204 is ip address". even we remove $ at end of expression.
i have no idea how to fix it
