OSS-pitches
## Contributing to If Me
* Why: It is a open-source mental health support app, and I am a huge proponent of mental health advocacy and support efforts.
* What: I found a feature/enhancement request that looks very do-able: https://github.com/julianguyen/ifme/issues/424. Basically changing the code to allow for a comma separated list to be entered into a form.
* I Need: To dig into their code and then get in touch with the owner of the repo. I recently implemented this functionality did this in my personal project for mod 3, so I think it would be an easy win for me.
* When I’m done: Hopefully they accept my work?
## Contributing to Code for Denver Project (Circular)
* Why: Code for Denver is an organization I have wanted to get involved with ever since starting Turing, and is at the top of my list for after I am finished. There are also Turing alums involved with the group, so getting involved with the group WHILE finishing my mod 4 OSS contributions would work doubly in my favor.
* What: CfD’s current project is a rails app. There are many outstanding issues (https://github.com/codefordenver/Circular/issues) I see that I can tackle(i.e. adding Google and Facebook Oauth, improving their readme, etc.)
* I Need: To get touch with the group - I can reach out to Tommasina to see how best to do this, or I can attend their next work meeting next Monday evening.
* When I’m done: I will have successfully gotten involved with Code for Denver and contributed to their app.
## Contributing to PublicLab
* Why: It is a civic-minded Rails project that applies the open-source philosophy to investigating environmental issues. Also, the organization seems to be extremely welcome to working with new OSS contributors.
* What: They have a lot of small issues it looks like I could tackle and responsive admins. Reproducing this bug might be a good place for me to start: https://github.com/publiclab/plots2/issues/1337
* I Need: To get on their Gitter and/or Google Groups channel to introduce myself.
* When I’m done: My work will have solved a real-world problem. Also, this looks like a great project to learn about how to OSS can be built AND be friendly to new contributors
