Final version.

We're a community of like minded people with interests ranging from software development, to games and retro technology. Whilst most of our members are part of the School of Computing, we also have members from the Arts, and Environmental Sciences to many others.

We currently have approximately 70 members, with a good 60 showing up to our recent start of term launch event.

We keep in close contact with members who have graduated, providing us with an onlook to what it is like to work in industry.

On a Monday evening, we host semi-regular talks covering the various subjects we are interested in. We also host regular LAN parties, where the group will get together in a hall and play games together. This also allows us to raise funds for other events.

Last year, we hosted our own version of the CharityHack, where together we collaborated on a project to track module deadlines, and donate money to charity if we missed them. We also travelled up to London to a talk given by the Open Rights Group by Bruce Schneier.

The main benefit we give to our members is providing a platform to help either members projects, interests and, sometimes with their degree programmes. We are also part of the O'Reilly User Group programme, which gives us a sizeable discount off of technology books, and the occasional freebies.

What we would be interested in is any talks you could give, someone else at Apple UK, or indeed, anything else you think you could help us with.
