Mod 3 Week 2

Cover Letter

Review your cover letter with a peer some time this week. What feedback did your partner give you? What next steps will you take to make your cover letter even stronger?

One of the pieces of feedback I got was about selling myself more - I think there might be more opportunities to speak to my skills in relation to what the company needs, so that's where I'll start.

If you were to apply to this position (and you should!), how will you customize your resume for it? What other next steps would you need to take here?

Oh, I'm definitely applying to this position. I'll update my resume to take some other feedback that was given to help people understand the scope of my work - and then I'll describe my sample projects in a way that's more relevant to the skills that they're looking for, as well as reorder (and get more specific with the skills listed on the left side of my resume).

As far as next steps, I'll need to start networking with people within the company. I don't think I want to apply just yet, at least until I have projects that use more relevant technologies to show them. But I would like to start getting to know the people that work there. So to sum it up - warm up connections within the company, and submit an application with more projects that are relevant to what the company's looking for.

I really like that you applied to the role! Keep that up. I think your cover letter was good, but you could have done things to make it fill the page without adding too much more content. Other than that, great work!
