Proposal for Improving Mass Assignment

For a while, I have felt that the following is the correct way to improve the mass assignment problem without increasing the burden on new users. Now that the problem with the Rails default has been brought up again, it's a good time to revisit it.

Sign Allowed Fields

When creating a form with form_for, include a signed token including all of the fields that were created at form creation time. Only these fields are allowed.

To allow new known fields to be added via JS, we could add:

How Homakov hacked GitHub and how to protect your application by Peter Nixey

##How Homakov hacked GitHub and the line of code that could have prevented it

Please note: THIS ARTICLE IS NOT WRITTEN BY THE GITHUB TEAM or in any way associated with them. It's simply hosted as a Gist because the markdown formatting is excellent and far clearer than anything I could manage on my personal Tumblr at peternixey.com.

var http = require('http')
var fork = require('child_process').fork;
function fib(n) {
if (n < 2) {
return 1;
} else {
return fib(n - 2) + fib(n - 1);
}
}

High level style in javascript.

Opinions are like assholes, every one has got one.

This one is mine.

Most active GitHub users (git.io/top)

The count of contributions (summary of Pull Requests, opened issues and commits) to public repos at GitHub.com from Wed, 21 Sep 2022 till Thu, 21 Sep 2023.

Only first 1000 GitHub users according to the count of followers are taken. This is because of limitations of GitHub search. Sorting algo in pseudocode:

Tips for Writing Portable Node.js Code

Node.js core does its best to treat every platform equally. Even if most Node developers use OS X day to day, some use Windows, and most everyone deploys to Linux or Solaris. So it's important to keep your code portable between platforms, whether you're writing a library or an application.

Predictably, most cross-platform issues come from Windows. Things just work differently there! But if you're careful, and follow some simple best practices, your code can run just as well on Windows systems.

Paths and URLs

On Windows, paths are constructed with backslashes instead of forward slashes. So if you do your directory manipulation
