First, please read On Maintaining a Native Node Module
Problem: There is no standard way to build + distribute prebuilt binaries for node modules with native addons (e.g. C++ bindings).
There's a thing called NODE_MODULE_VERSION
which is used to know if a native module was compiled for the correct version + flavor of node. If you are trying to load something compiled for e.g. iojs
from February 2015 into node
from March 2014 you will get an error something like Error: Module version mismatch. Expected 11, got 42.
when you try and run your program. node
uses numbers from 10 going up, and iojs
uses numbers from 40 going up. The NODE_MODULE_VERSION
gets bumped usually when V8 is upgraded, but sometimes for other reasons. It also gets even more complicated when you start talking about runtimes like Electron or Node-Webkit, but I won't get into that here. To my knowledge there is n

Hi Banglers,
We hope you've been having fun experimenting with your Bangle.js and wanted to let you know about some important updates to the software for it.
The version of software on your Bangle.js is a very early release and has been improved hugely since November. Some of you may have encountered bugs with the middle button or find that some of the newer Apps on banglejs.com/apps don't work as they should.
Updating the software will solve these issues and get you access to new apps such as early Gadgetbridge integration for Android phone notifications.
The Zoom install package for macOS is mad. Rather than actually using the installer to install things, it does everything in the preinstall script. That's bonkers, and also means that the system won't have a list of the files it installed, because it's doing it using shell script.
The script appears to install two items, namely:
/Applications/zoom.us.app
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ZoomUsPlugIn.plugin
If the user opening the package isn't an administrator, it looks like it will install the app in the user's home folder instead. If they are an administrator, Zoom will delete the ZoomUsPlugIn.plugin from /Library if it's there, but it still installs to ~/Library.
It also adds Zoom to your Dock automatically, without asking.
