Selfbot Rules
(These are the "unofficial" rules of Selfbots. Click the image for more information.)
Please remember that selfbots arent fully suported by Discord and that it should only be used to make YOUR life easier and not others. Also keep in mind that discord has a set of rules regarding selfbots:
  • A selfbot must not, under any circumstance, act like a normal bot (responding to user commands, etc)
  • A selfbot must not, under any circumstance, do "invite scraping". This is the action of detecting server invites in chat, and automatically joining a server using that invite.
  • As selfbots run under your account they are subject to the same Terms of Service. Meaning they should not spam, insult or demean others, post NSFW material, spread viruses or illegal material, etc. They have to follow the same rules that you follow.
  • Abusing the API such as spamming users, or spamming the API itself can and will cause your account to be banned
  • Discord does not 'support' self bots.

IF, and only if you accept the above rules of selfbots, then you may proceed. You might get warned but it appears it's just a ban if caught. Good luck, soldiers.

im unsure of the context here, but selfbots are banned from discord.
the link is for seperate bot accounts, not selfbots.
consider reading this webpage for more info.

@506independent You do realize this was made circa 2017 when there was no official stance and this was created for the common question in a certain community regarding self-bot logins on a specific library. IF you do not understand the full context of something in regards to it, please cease commenting on things from 2017.

ah so self-bots are not outright bans, rather a gray zone?

they work until they get too obvious, and thus reported thats what i would say.

My problem isn't that I don't know what to do and what not (I know that you shouldn't use self-bots for bad stuff) but rather:
If my selfbot does not harm anyone, will Discord still ban it?

Most likely, especially if you spam the api or have ppl notice it and report you. Try to optimize requests to a minimum and try to not do too much "funky stuff" like spam ppl with similar messages, spam unrated endpoints like channel open close etc

OK :) thanks <3

Im running 4 accs botted in parallel, one only Sets its status to dnd. But i got a warning bc i spammed like 30k logs using my selfbot. Then again my real bot was disabled bc of 1k logins bc of unoptimized code. Just dont overdo it and keep normal limits and imings in mind that a user would do. Using a botted account itself doesnt do much, only if you hit rate limits or spam actions, you get your tokens revoked (got my acc pw reset for sus a few hours ago for apispam lol, using caches inside my own code for stuff like the last status etc now)

What do you mean by 'warning'? Did you get an E-Mail or Discord message or what?

Just wondering if I got this right. If I want to create a group dm with a self bot that me and my friends can interact with by sending commands, that would be a bannable offense? The commands would just be to keep track of things, like if I or one of them type !week and get back what event is happening that week.

@PiotrWojciechowski-dev That is correct. Any use of a userbot as of this original post has been deemed a bannable offense against your account.

@nomsi Ah that sucks, wish there was a way to use regular bots in group DMs even if they had limited functionality.

You can use a selfbot as long as you don't spam the API with requests. Ive been using them for years and nothing has happened you just gotta have common sense and nothing will happen
