The Handoff

  • Desired talk duration: 30 minutes

Abstract

The handoff and subsequent interaction between design assets and development implementation is one of the most sensitive parts of a web application's development cycle. As our team of designers and developers here at Hashrocket has grown, we've compiled a variety of tips and techniques to facilitate agile, clean, and pain-free methods of bringing an idea from mockup to working code. We'll review some practical client-ready prototyping methods, tips for enabling quick feedback loops, and our ever powerful UI directory. Our process has evolved into a workflow that allows the various people involved to focus on what they love and do best. By working together efficiently, we tee each other up for success.

Notes

We have not given this talk before as of this time.

We have been honing our process for years at Hashrocket and we want to share what we've learned from a lot of trial and error. The ideas we'll be discussing are things that people can take back to their day to day and apply directly to their internal team interactions. We will walk attendees through the early stages of a project and how we hit the ground running. We will continue with an overview of how we work together in the longer term.
