This will vary depending on display size and DPI. While you can increase scaling on high DPI displays, that isn't always desirable for other reasons.
For most purposes I use 14 pt for editors and 12 pt for terminals, but with Visual Studio Code I go a bit bigger for comfort: 16 pt for the editor and 14 pt for terminals.
