An AutoHotkey script that restores the use of the scroll wheel on the Microsoft Office Keyboard RT9450, which has not been supported since Windows XP.

this is just to send you my 1000 thanks !! for this fantastic piece of work. I'm a translator (in France) and used the MS Office Keyboard for many years already (so does my husband). We love this keyboard especially for that large scrolling wheel. After having to switch from the lovely 7 to ugly 10 the keyboard seemed to be obsolete. I've been searching the internet for days to find a tweak and - lucky me! - I almost had given up, but then... I found your solution :-). YOU MADE MY DAY !!
One question though, is it possible to have the mute and volume up/down buttons functioning as well?

It should already be working in Windows 10. It worked for me even without the software I listed in my message above. Do you not see the overlay in Windows 10 when adjusting the volume level with these keys on the keyboard ?

I only see the speaker symbol (with the "glued" cross) in the Info area of the monitor's task bar. Pushing the buttons (Mute, Vol + or - ) do not do anything.

You need the item mentioned at the top of the script, that URL is https://github.com/jleb/AHKHID

I placed the files ahkhid.* files in C:\Program Files\AutoHotkey\lib, then was able to run this script, or in my case, simply compiled it into an EXE, so that I no longer need that software installed to utilize it, just moving that EXE over to any computer I need use the full functions of the keyboard on, with of course the MS software for it being installed as well.
