More Ruby than Ruby

  • Desired talk duration: 45 minutes

Abstract

At the moment, Ruby is arguably the best programming language for web development. But what else is out there? Functional programming languages have been gaining track for a while now, so most of us know how they compare to Ruby with regard to concurrent programming. But what if we look at what Ruby does well, like metaprogramming, and see how that compares to a functional, dynamically typed language like Clojure? Check out this talk if you want to know...

Notes

I've given this talk before on KRUG (Kraków Ruby Users Group) and the slides from that presentation are posted on my blog. I've gotten very good feedback on the presentation and have a bunch of ideas how to make it even better.
