I'd be amazed if it's still operating to be honest, there don't seem to be any references to a live channel on BBC's website.

I just happened upon it by chance, and it was working up until the recent URL change.
It might have been one of those services that got the axe as part of BBCs latest restructuring.

Could be down to two reasons

BBC said they are shutting down SD (standard definition) channels, They already have on Satellite.

maybe if your outside of the UK or Northern Ireland or using a VPN even if is UK or Ireland then that could be the issue - Far as i know, Only UK/NI Residential/Business IPs will be allowed to steam from BBC URL, Any UK IP VPS/VPNs and Dedicated Server is a no no unless BBC approves the hosting company what i dout will happen.

Came across this thread while browsing. Don't know if you are aware but the BBC are shutting down use of all HLS and DASH streams for radio unless they are authorised by agreement with manufacturers.

protected HLS and DASH streaming technologies, which is how we will distribute radio streams online, please listen via BBC Sounds, or consider adapting the device

Thanks but the bitrate is a bit high for me and video is choppy on lower end device. I sorted this by replacingv=pv14/b=5070016 with v=pv10/b=1604032 in the url for the lower resolution streams.

Unlike ITV, even broadcast BBC in 1080i is not high quality, and also often doesn't have high bitrate.
The bitrate does shoot up if the content is grainy, or high-motion high-detail in nature (a football game for example). But often enough, you will find the average bitrate of broadcast BBC in 1080i to be even lower than the 720p50 web streams.
So, official or not, there is currently no high-quality source a stream can use for BBC channels, except when some specific content is on, as mentioned above.

You can try the media availability tool which will return all the available streams. As mentioned over and over again, the legitimate live streams are generally only 720p or UHD (if available), but querying the media selector will allow you to see if the stream quality you are after is available or not.

You can poll this API endpoint (as long as you know the channel ID) and the stream URLs are in the response:

Although the "service" value seems to be set to deprecated in all of the responses so no idea what that actually means, but the stream URLs are at least there.No 1080p, only nasty pixelated 720 and lower there.
You can try the media availability tool which will return all the available streams. As mentioned over and over again, the legitimate live streams are generally only 720p or UHD (if available), but querying the media selector will allow you to see if the stream quality you are after is available or not.
You'd still need to know the channel ID when using the Media Availability Tool though, am i right?

Play - "Open Mypage and open ???"

MyPage doesn't work with the Echo Show 5 3rd Gen. All I get is a blank screen for a few seconds before it goes back. It also can't be configured on the Echo Show 5 3rd Gen as it just asks for a code. Does anyone know any workaround to open custom URLs in the Silk browser using voice on the 3rd generation Echo Show 5?
I use gen 1's and 2's, don't see why a gen 3 should break it. You've installed on Echo and can see it listed in the app? "alexa, open mypage and open list" should open the list on the echo for you to populate? But's it's easier to use the PC - go to https://xdream2000.com/alexa/my_page/ on your PC. Scroll down the mypage on your echo and you will see the code your PC requires. Populate one of the entries, save and try it. If that doesn't work, email the author, Andy, andy_s@gmx.at.

Does the media selector not work for episodes using sport stream anymore? Just tried the snooker which I know is using sport stream 03 however it just returns error ( result":"selectionunavailable"} )
