You can poll this API endpoint (as long as you know the channel ID) and the stream URLs are in the response:

Although the "service" value seems to be set to deprecated in all of the responses so no idea what that actually means, but the stream URLs are at least there.
Bearing in mind we get many pop-up streams these days....Is there an easy/simple list of "channel IDs somewhere, such as a BBC sourced JSON or XML file perhaps?

I understand that there are different quality streams available for each channel. There appears to be one pitched at mobile users, a pc orientated stream, a higher quality HD stream and sometimes a UHD one.
The first two of these are the biggest puzzle because they appear to offer the same resolution of 960 x 540 and the same frame rate (25fps) . Could anyone who understands this technology explain the difference please?

Usually different bitrates of the same resolution which impacts the quality rather than resolution (https://www.dacast.com/blog/bitrate-vs-resolution/)
Many thanks for the reply Jordan and the excellent link which I have read. I did compare the bitrates between the two streams and they appeared similar (although hard to judge when variable). Maybe I should concentrate less on the technicalities and more on the content!

Its set to 1440p at the moment because the 4k stream seems pretty unstable at least for me (regardless device / internet connection).
You can then access the stream directly without any conversion by using:

4K is only available via mpd.
Change ../pc_hd_abr_v2.m3u8 to ../iptv_hd_abr_v1.m3u8 for 720p instead of 540p

There are only 5 UHD streams, so just a guess out of these, I would take a guess if BBC is broadcasting the Euros in UHD it could be uhd_stream_03 (01 seems to have a max resolution of 1080p, segments currently can't be found as nothing is broadcasting on it)

UEFA aren't offering a UHD stream. HDR is the best quality, so BBC have been using the 01 stream above for the Euros.
