  • When you've worked towards a goal in the past, what systems or tools have been helpful for you in accomplishing that goal? How could you adapt those same systems/tools to use while at Turing?

    • In the past when I've worked towards a goal, I have used planning, lists and accountability. I can adapt these to my use while at TUring by planning my days around what I have to get done while at Turing, this includes keeping good notes and having a list of tasks that need to be done. I will also use my family support structure to keep me accountable. By this I mean my wife. She knows that Turing will be an intense curriculum and that I will need to get my work done on time.
  • As you start this new career, what is one of your strengths and how do you know?

    • As I start this new chapter in my life, I know that one of my strengths is that I am a quick learner. I know this is one of my strengths because in the past, when I've been assigned new projects or tasks to complete in which I have no experience/knowledge in, I can read through instructions or have a demonstration by someone and get a general understanding of the tasks pretty quickly.
  • Describe how you work best (conditions, environment, preferences, etc.):

    • I work best in a collaborative setting, meaning an environment in which I can access the knowledge of others by walking to their desk, or sending them a message with my question.
  • As you start this new career, what is your greatest area of improvement when it comes to your professional skills?

    • When it comes to the area that needs improvement when it comes to my professional skills is effective communication. At times I have problems with effectively getting my message accross, I know what I want to say in my head, but when I try to put it in to spoken words, I sometimes have problems. I am working on this by trying to engage more in the slack channels and attempting to answer someones question effectively.
  • How will developing a deeper understanding of your strengths and working preferences benefit you as a software developer?

    • Developing a deeper understanding of my strenghts and working preferences will benefit me as a software developer by knowing what I can use as my foundation (Strenths) and it will allow me to build off of them. Knowing my working preference will increase my productivity since I will not have to figure out what my working preference is.
  • Describe the vision you currently have for your career after Turing:

    • The vision I currently have for my career after Turing is to preferentially pursue a remote position so that I may have more flexibility between work and family matters/engagements. Although this is preffered, I am also completely willing to work in an office setting.
