my first attempt to make it more workable via - https://9to5mac.com/2020/04/23/ipad-pro-magic-keyboard-escape-key/:

  • Caps Lock to Control (or to Escape)
  • Control to Caps Lock (to switch languages)
  • Option to Escape (or to Control)

That makes it similar to how I keymap on macOS with Karabiner
