  • What is your collaboration style? How do you feel about pair programming vs. divide-and-conquer approaches? We prefer to collaborate and work together, bouncing ideas off each other/pair programming.
  • How do you communicate best? How do you appreciate receiving communication from others. We prefer to be direct and honest upfront instead of letting things build up or go unaddressed.
  • How would you describe your work style? We like to work by making a general plan/ layout and then refining and adding from there. Careful planning in the beginning is crucial to the sucess of the project.
  • What are each of our strengths? How can our strengths complement each other? I'm a good planner and conceptual thinking while my partner is good at execution and diving deep into topics.
  • What’s gone well or poorly in your previous projects? Not enough time delegated to projects/no structured productivity time.
  • How will we set direction and make decisions as a team? We will communicate remotely over the long weekend and in person every day in class.
  • How will we overcome obstacles? We will try to work it out ourselves, then ask other cohort students, then ask upper mod students, and lastly instructors. We promise to communicate open and honestly.
  • What do you need (resources, environment, communication) to do your best work? I need food after long intervals, some good poms, great communication.
  • What scheduling restraints do you have? What are your scheduling preferences? He has a wedding to go to and I have to go home over the weekend at some point.
  • What is your style for giving feedback? Does anything ever hold you back from giving feedback? I like to give compliments first and then address problems delicately which can sometimes lead to misscommuncation.
  • What do you identify as being your biggest strength(s) technically, as they relate to this project? Where do you feel you could use improvement in your technical skills, as they relate to this project? How can our team help support you in improving these skills? I think I have strong HTML and pretty good CSS organizational skills but I need some JavaScript help which my partner is good at so I will be sure to ask him lots of questions.
  • What tools do you want to use to manage the project? We are going to use Slack and GitHub.
  • How do you want the group to solve problems when members run into issues with features of the project?
We will try to work it out ourselves, then ask other cohort students, then ask upper mod students, and lastly instructors. We promise to communicate open and honestly.
  • How do you know if a project is successful? How can we achieve that as a group? Our project will be successful if we complete at least Phase 2 while understanidng all of the concepts used in achieving the goals of the project.
  • How will we recognize each other's successes and celebrate them? We will congratulate each other for each win and for making the necessary progress
