Requirements: | |
You need two USB drives: | |
1. USB-drive-A [installer] (at least USB 2.0, USB 3.0 is is also ok) | |
- 4.0 Gb + capacity | |
2. USB-drive-B [system, boot] USB 3.0 | |
- large capacity ~ 128 Gb | |
* Note about USB manufacturers. Some drive by default can not be used to boot. Find ones that are bootable! | |
In Windows: | |
Download and install http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/ | |
Download ubuntu desktop iso image for 15.04 from: http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop | |
Insert USB-drive-A [installer]. Run universal USB installer: | |
- select Ubuntu 64-bit linux | |
- select your local ubuntu 64 iso file | |
- select USB-drive-A [installer] | |
- click format | |
- RUN | |
Now you have created a bootable usb installer with this program! | |
[Note you need to check to see if your bios can boot from USB first]. | |
Now boot your system from the new USB 3.0 drive USB-drive-B [system, boot]. | |
