In menu Edit > Preferences > left panel Interface > Keyboard Shortcuts, set Shortcut file to Adobe Illustrator, so you have V to select, A to edit nodes, P for pen tool etc.

Custom color swatches: open Swatches panel (in menu View), and choose the color you like in Fill and Stroke panel (in menu Object), click right-most Swatch square button to save the color.

Pattern Fill: Node Tool to adjust size and rotation. Remember to zoom out to see the handles!

Inkscape has no smart guides but have rich snapping tools which can be toggled on and off on the right-side Snap Controls Bar (in menu View > Show/Hide).

Other align tools in Align and Distribute panel (in menu Object).
- Rectangles can adjust rounded-corners. However, for shapes like Rectangles are objects, once you turn them into paths, they lose the ability to adjust rounded corners.
- Scale strokes, rounded corners, gradients and patterns can be toggled in 4 buttons on the toolbar when selecting an object.
- Only path can have Union, Difference, Intersection etc. operations through Path menu. You may have to Path > Object to Path.

Plain SVG: File > Save a Copy...

PNG: File > Export PNG Image... panel and type in desired pixel size.
- Default document size: save as
