Alias to invoke Chrome Canary w/ tracing, for IRHydra

An Alias to run Chrome with tracing enabled

For Chrome Canary:

alias hydra='/Applications/Google\ Chrome\ Canary.app/Contents/MacOS/Google\ Chrome\ Canary --no-sandbox --js-flags="--user-data-dir=/tmp/profile --trace-hydrogen --trace-phase=Z --trace-deopt --code-comments --hydrogen-track-positions --redirect-code-traces"'

For regular ol' Chrome:

A Very Simple Genetic Algorithm Written in Swift 3
#!/usr/bin/env xcrun swift -O
/*
gen.swift is a direct port of cfdrake's helloevolve.py from Python 2.7 to Swift 3
-------------------- https://gist.github.com/cfdrake/973505 ---------------------
gen.swift implements a genetic algorithm that starts with a base
population of randomly generated strings, iterates over a certain number of
generations while implementing 'natural selection', and prints out the most fit
string.
The parameters of the simulation can be changed by modifying one of the many

things I don't know

I took this list from What CS majors should know.

I think it is fun to list things I don't know so I did it =D. I actually found it to be a cool exercise -- maybe I should do a fun graphics project and learn about Open GL!

i wrote this because, while i think the things on this list are potentially worth knowing, and I actually think it's an awesome list of project ideas as well as good food for thought for people developing CS curricula (many of the things I don't know are great exercises!) -- I thought it was really weird to say that every CS student should know all of them. I have a CS degree and I learned very few of the things I do know inside my degree.

I classify "do know" as anything that I have a reasonable grasp of or at least some basic experience with -- the kind of experience I'd expect a CS student to be able to get. If I say I don't know something, it means either I know pretty much nothing about it (for "gr

My tale:

My Thoughts on Rust

Rust is the first language that has emerged in the past few years that solves enough of my problems that it would be worth not only learning & teaching an entirely new language, but also sacrificing the maturity of the language ecosystems I’ve become accustomed to.

I highly suggest you read the "Guide" provided by the language developers or this won't make much sense. These are just some of my thoughts and are intended to highlight particular things that stand out to me. I am just a practitioner and not an expert in any of these languages, so I have probably made some incorrect assumptions and out-of-date assertions. Bare with me.

Rust feels like the first time momentum has gained behind a true systems programming language that uses modern PL design techniques to prevent common errors when dealing with memory. It seems like others have previously either been too anemic to be worth adopting or too abstract to provide proper control. The type system and assignment semantics are designed specifically to preven

C11 standard library to Rust standard library (as of 2014-07-19 nightly)

As a response to Issue #15753. Not yet complete.

Some notes:

  • All Rust translations assume the crate root (so the reference to std is freely available). The use of any other crates is noted.
  • Every string or vector argument is assumed to be a slice (&str or &[T]). Otherwise you need to convert String or Vec<T> to a slice with .as_slice() method.

<assert.h>

  • assert(cond): assert!(cond) macro. Note that it's always enabled; if you need to selectively disable the assertions, use debug_assert!(cond) macro.
